Testimonials

Zarah, Pune, India

Hi!

My name is Zarah and I’m from Pune, India. I have completed my Flight Instructor Diploma with Ardmore Flying School and am now working with them as Flight Instructor, training other students. Selecting the right flying school can be a daunting task and I chose Ardmore after a lot of research, reading a lot of reviews and recommendation from a family friend.

I can say with confidence that right from the outset I have been very impressed with the professionalism shown by the school. The school has very well maintained fleet of aircraft and a team of experienced, friendly instructors who are always ready to help. They set very demanding standards for flying which as a pilot I’ve greatly benefited from. NZ is a beautiful country and flying here has been an incredible experience to say the least. This has been made even more enjoyable with support from the school and the friends I’ve made here.

Omais Farooqui, Hyderabad, India
First Officer Air New Zealand ATR72-500 and Ex Ardmore Flying School Deputy CFI & Manager- Training & Standards

I always wanted to be a pilot. At the age of 28, after completing an MBA and running a business for almost 8 years in Hyderabad, India, I decided it was time to pursue my flying career.

After researching flight training in Canada, Australia and New Zealand I was drawn to Ardmores well-respected, high quality standard of training. Ardmore Flying School offers a higher standard of training than most with a relaxed atmosphere and I found this method of training at Ardmore Flying School appealing. This, I believe, is one of Ardmore's competitive edges.

I completed all of my aviation training at Ardmore Flying School and after graduating went on to complete a C-Category Instructor Rating and entered what is now the AFS Internship programme, where I fulfilled a number of duties in the school, eventually completing my B Category Instructor rating. As my career progressed, I was promoted through the ranks of the school and finished my time at the school as Deputy Chielf Flying Instructor and the Manager of Standards and Training.

The Management at AFS also supported my role flying a King Air 350 around New Zealand for the New Zealand Air Ambulance Service, which allowed me to build my experience and expertise.

I believe to be successful is to gain satisfaction from what you do and to ensure you don't take any short cuts, make the investment in yourself in terms of time and money. My advise to all Indian students contemplating a career in aviation is to train with the best schools with the most comprehensive programmes, not the cheapest, "bare bones" courses, as these basic courses do not give you the level of skills required to be an effective pilot candidate when you interview with the airlines.

I am very very satisfied with my experience at Ardmore, they gave me the very best training and the best chance at achieving success and becoming a professional pilot in New Zealand, something I don't think I could have achieved had I chosen another school or stayed in India. My training record and career progress proves it really works!!
